Privacy policy
This policy covers the Hazumo app and this website. In short: your workout log stays on your phone unless you sign in. Camera pictures are used only to count reps. We show no ads and we never sell data.
On your phone
The exercise library, your workout log, your plan answers and your settings are stored on your phone. Without an account, none of this leaves the phone. Rest timer alerts are local notifications; nothing is sent to show them. If you pair a Wear OS watch, the current workout goes from the phone to the watch over the watch link, and the watch's buttons come back the same way.
Account and sync
Signing in is optional. If you sign in with Google:
- We receive your name, your email address, your Google account ID and, if Google provides one, a link to your profile picture. We use them to identify your account.
- Your workout log, plans and plan answers are copied to our database so they can sync between your devices. Each account can read only its own data.
- The database and sign-in run on Supabase, in the United States (US West). Google handles the sign-in itself under Google's privacy policy.
If you sign out, the app stops syncing. What is already on your phone stays there.
Camera rep counting
Camera counting is a Premium feature. The camera is used only while you count a set:
- The app first checks on the phone whether a person is in view. Pictures with nobody in them are not sent.
- While a set runs, camera pictures go over an encrypted connection to the Hazumo counting server. The server finds body positions, counts reps and timed holds, and sends the count back.
- Pictures are discarded after counting. The app does not record video or keep pictures.
- With each picture the app sends technical details: an ID for the set, timings and the app version. We use them to find connection and counting problems.
- The app counts reps. It never grades your form.
Test builds. Test builds of Hazumo have a "Saving" switch on the count screen. It is off unless you turn it on. When it is on, that set's camera pictures and its count are saved on the developer's computer to test and improve counting. They are never shared or sold. To have yours deleted, write to us (below). With Saving off, pictures are used only to count and are not stored.
The camera permission is asked for only when you first start counting. You can turn it off in Android settings.
What we do not do
- No ads and no advertising IDs.
- No analytics or tracking SDKs in the app, and none on this website.
- We never sell or rent your data, and we share it only with the services named here.
- This website sets no cookies. It remembers your light or dark choice in your browser only.
How long we keep data
Synced data stays until you delete it or your account. Delete account in the app removes your account and synced data at once; a request by email is done within 30 days. Data on your phone is removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall it.
Deleting your account
See how to delete your Hazumo account and data.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or its deletion. Write to us and we answer within 30 days.
Children
Hazumo is not made for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
