Band triceps pressdown

Start with 2 sets of 8-12 controlled repetitions per side.
Start: Standing
Steps
- Anchor a band above shoulder height and hold one end with the elbow tucked near the ribs.
- Straighten the elbow without moving the shoulder.
- Return slowly until the elbow bends to a comfortable angle.
Cues
- Upper arm stays by the side
- Straighten, then return slowly
Common mistakes
- Swinging the shoulder
- Snapping the elbow straight

- Elbow extension strengthening

- Start with light resistance and stop if elbow or shoulder pain increases.
Evidence (1)
- The triceps brachii is the principal elbow extensor; this band variant has not been isolated in an outcomes trial.1
