- Lower two-thirds of the lateral fibula
- Insertion
- Tuberosity on the lateral base of the 5th metatarsal
- Nerve
- Superficial fibular nerve (L5-S2)

- Everts the foot
- Weakly plantarflexes the ankle

- Its pull can avulse the base of the 5th metatarsal during inversion injury.
