Anatomy
- Origin
- Head and upper two-thirds of the lateral fibula
- Insertion
- Base of the 1st metatarsal and medial cuneiform (plantar surface)
- Nerve
- Superficial fibular nerve (L5-S2)
Actions
- Everts the foot
- Weakly plantarflexes the ankle
- Supports the transverse arch
