Anatomy
- Origin
- Proximal three-quarters of the medial and anterior ulna and interosseous membrane
- Insertion
- Bases of the distal phalanges of digits 2-5
- Nerve
- Medial part (digits 4-5): ulnar nerve; lateral part (digits 2-3): anterior interosseous nerve (median) (C8-T1)
Actions
- Flexes the DIP joints of digits 2-5
- Assists flexion of the hand
Notes
- Avulsion from the distal phalanx is "jersey finger".
