- Origin
- Humero-ulnar head: medial epicondyle, ulnar collateral ligament, coronoid process; radial head: superior anterior border of the radius
- Insertion
- Shafts of the middle phalanges of digits 2-5
- Nerve
- Median nerve (C8-T1 (C7))
Actions
- Flexes the PIP joints of digits 2-5
- Assists MCP and wrist flexion

- Tested by flexing one PIP joint while the other fingers are held extended (blocks FDP).
