Anatomy
- Origin
- Short head: tip of the coracoid process; long head: supraglenoid tubercle of the scapula
- Insertion
- Radial tuberosity and, via the bicipital aponeurosis, the deep fascia of the forearm
- Nerve
- Musculocutaneous nerve (C5-C6)
Actions
- Supinates the forearm
- Flexes the elbow (strongest with the forearm supinated)
- Weakly flexes the shoulder

- Biceps reflex tests mainly C5-C6. Long head tendon is involved in SLAP lesions and tendinopathy.
