Anatomy
- Origin
- Lateral lip of the linea aspera and lateral supracondylar line of the femur
- Insertion
- Head of the fibula
- Nerve
- Common fibular division of the sciatic nerve (L5-S2)
Actions
- Flexes the knee and laterally rotates it when flexed
Notes
- Does not cross the hip, so strictly it is not a "hamstring".
