Origin
Anterior surface of the sternum, upper six costal cartilages, aponeurosis of the external oblique
Insertion
Lateral lip of the intertubercular sulcus of the humerus
Nerve
Lateral and medial pectoral nerves (C7-T1)

Actions

  • Extends the humerus from a flexed position
  • Adducts and medially rotates the humerus
